Non Spoiler FNaF Movie Review

HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SO BANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Certainly a much slower film than I was expecting but a welcome addition. I think there’s a distinct lack of horror and sometimes the explanations aren’t handled as well (for people who haven’t seen FNaF before), but otherwise great adaptation of the original story!

There were lots of easter eggs in the first half of the movie that were very fun to see, I love that one of them turns into a really important plot point throughout the story that caught me very off gaurd.

(Slightish spoilers on how characters are handled) I was very surprised how the animatronics were portrayed this time compared to the original FNaF plot. Much more “Don’t really understand they’re killing people” rather than the usual games interpretation of “They don’t like adults because they think they’re the killer”. Its a fun interpretation I’ve seen in a lot of fanon that I wasn’t expecting to be put in this, though I still personally like the original intention more. This is one of the parts that lowers the scare factor a lot.

I like that they focus a lot on the daytime sections to build characters and the plot to focus away from when they’re spending the night over. Gives Freddy’s a specific atmosphere to contrast with the rest of the film.

The final sections felt like a lot at once and it really feels like the film shoulda been like, another 15 more minutes to break the pacing up a bit. One part of the daytime section of the story is sorta glanced over at the end cause they wanna just wrap things up I guess.

Its not perfect but I think all the parts I was hoping were able to make it to the movie got in, this was absolutely a movie made for the fans over general audiences, and as a fan I LOVEDDDDDDDD it.
